“One of the best B&Bs we have ever visited” *****

This lovely guest house is located in a quiet part of town, about a ten minute walk from the centre of Swanage. Quite close to the railway and it’s great to hear the steam trains going by.
From the minute we arrived we were made so welcome by Wilma and Lawrie. We were treated to a pot of tea and biscuits then shown to our room (number 1) that was spacious, bright and beautifully decorated and furnished.
Breakfast was smashing, loads of choice and freshly cooked.
Wilma and Lawrie can’t do enough for you, offering ideas for days out and places to eat in the evenings. We were able to borrow books on the area and maps which were really helpful.
Can’t fault this place, we will definitely return

Long weekend break” *****

We could not find fault with anything at Little Gem. Wilma and Lawrie were welcoming and friendly. The rooms were clean and and bright and everything we could have needed was provided. In the bathroom there was plenty of places to hang a wet towel to dry and shower gel, conditioner was provided along with liquid and hard soap by the sink. Towels were a good size and lovely and soft. The bed was comfortable and pillows were good quality not the type that flatten as soon as you rest your head on them like in most B&B’s!! A very good selection of tea’s, coffee’s was provided and a sachet of hot chocolate along with some biscuits. 2 bottles of mineral water were proved and all complimentary drinks were replenished daily. Breakfast was delicious and there was plenty to choose from both hot and cold food which was selected and the card left out for collection the night before. A selection of delicious spreads and sauces were available and a bowl of fresh fruit too. It was lovely to hear the steam train chuffing along occasionally as it was at the end of the road, quiet at night though! A lovely place to stay and quite central in Swanage, after parking up we walked everywhere all weekend clocking up 20 or so miles. Thank you Wilma and Lawrie, it truly is a Little Gem and we would certainly recommend it.

Relaxing break” *****

Excellent guest house very clean , comfy beds, large shower, nice freshly cooked breakfasts what more could you want? Hosts extremely helpful and obviously knew the local area, we have been to Swanage a few times but found a couple of new places to visit!
Would definitely recommend, only a ten min walk to the railway station and town. The addition of a fridge and a fan in the room would be a bonus especially when hot as we were lucky enough to experience!
Lovely place for a quiet relaxing break just what we were looking for

Room tip: Most rooms upstairs so need to be able climb stairs

”De-stress at the Little Gem” *****

Lovely clean and bright rooms with kind hosts. Nothing is too much trouble for Lawrie and Wilma. A gentle stroll to the railway and then down to the little town and beach.
The area is quiet and relaxing with plenty of walking on the cliff top.

“Just lovely!” *****

My husband and I stayed for 1 night as part of a Jurassic coast walking weekend. Wilma and Lawrie are lovely hosts and were able to give us all the information we needed on walks, where to eat and drink in Swanage town. The B&B is pristine and the breakfast is fantastic – very good poached eggs 😉

Location-wise its lovely and quiet and a short 10 min stroll into Swanage.
